FG INCREASES PASSPORT APPLICATION FEES EFFECTIVE FROM SEPTEMBER 1, 2025.

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced that there will be an increase in Nigerian passport application fees for applications made within Nigeria.

Starting September 1, a 32-page passport (5-year validity) will cost N100,000, while a 64-page passport (10-year validity) will cost N200,000.
Fees for Nigerians in the diaspora remain unchanged at $150 (32-page, 5 years) and $230 (64-page, 10 years).
According to NIS spokesperson ACI Akinlabi, the price hike is aimed at maintaining the quality, integrity, and accessibility of the Nigerian passport.

This is a 100% increase from the price hike of August 2024 when fees rose from N35,000 to N50,000 for the 32-page booklet and from N70,000 to N100,000 for the 64-page booklet.
