SASKATCHEWAN RECEIVES INCREASED PROVINCIAL ALLOCATIONS UNDER SINP FOR 2025.

Saskatchewan has joined other provinces and territories receiving increased allocations in 2025, receiving an increase of 1,136 nominations under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) for 2025. This brings the total allocation for the year to 4,761.

This is an exciting and welcome development at this crucial time, as other provinces, including Ontario and British Columbia, have announced 50% cuts to their allocations, resulting in changes to their PNPs, such as closing certain streams and capping the number of applications processed in 2025.

Earlier this year, the SINP allocation was cut by 50% compared to 2024. The federal government also introduced a requirement that 75% of nominees must already be in Canada, for the remaining 25% allocation for nominees outside Canada, Saskatchewan is prioritizing healthcare, agriculture, and skilled trades.

Additional changes introduced in 2025 include:

  • Closing the Entrepreneur and Farm Owner/Operator PR pathways.
  • Removing eligibility for some Open Work Permit holders.
  • Restricting eligibility under the SINP Student Category.
  • Removing spas, salons, and pet care services (excluding veterinarians) from eligibility for recruitment.

Other Provinces and Territories with Increased Allocations

  • Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, and Yukon are some of the other provinces and territories that have received an increase in their immigration allocations for 2025.
